With local electricity generation, utilising a mix of hydro, geothermal and natural gas co-generation technology, Bay of Plenty Energy is able to offer a high level of supply security to our customers. Additionally, because the majority of our generation is based within the Bay of Plenty and close to where the energy is used, the impact of any dry-year power crisis or national transmission constraints are greatly reduced - minimising the risk of power shortages for our customers.
